What Does Proficiency Do In Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero?

Every time you embark on a battle in Sparking Zero, you’ll collect Proficiency points for a particular character. Although you would think that it boosts a fighter’s performance, it’s actually used for something else entirely. Here’s what you need to know about the Proficiency mechanic in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Proficiency, explained

The Proficiency level displays how much you use a character, indicating how “proficient” you are with this fighter. It’s basically a way to show off your talents to other Sparking Zero players or spread your love for a favorite of yours. Each character displays a star-symbol progress bar for this system, and you can fill it up gradually by participating in battles. Higher Proficiency levels provide rewards from the Zen-Ohs Orders section, which can be found in the Challenges & Missions tab.

You’ll see various tasks to complete in the Zen-Ohs Orders hub, primarily for the Proficiency system. For instance, you can earn the Chiaotzu (Silver) Title after reaching Level 1 in his Proficiency. Almost every fighter offers these types of rewards, such as Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Frieza. Their Zen-Oh character cards are divided into three tiers: Proficiency Level 1, Level 4, and Level 7.

Use the character enough times to reach the maximum rank, earning you the most valuable rewards. The ones from Episode Battles are the best to start with, as you utilize them in the main campaign. Besides this, you can participate in battles and the World Tournament to increase the character’s Proficiency level. You don’t even have to win the fight since it only requires using them.

It’ll be quite a while for you to reach Level 7, but there is one trick players (like myself) have found useful.

How to level up Proficiency level fast in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero

To increase Proficiency levels fast in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, place five characters on a team in Offline Battles. Using a group enhances the ranks of everyone on the team, regardless of whether you utilized them during the showdown. You’ll hit two birds (or, in this case, five birds) with one stone, maximizing your time as a result.

You can also take advantage of this method to farm for Shenron and Porunga’s Dragon Balls. They’ll often show up as a reward in Offline Battles, along with Zenni and Player EXP.
