Throne And Liberty: How To Find The Fonos Basin Treasure Chest
Fonos Basin is a level 50 region in Throne and Liberty full of orcs and treasure. During the Fonos Basin Treasure quest, a quest NPC will send you off on an adventure to find a chest, but doing so is challenging when you only have a few clues.
Fonos Basin Treasure Chest location in Throne and Liberty
You’ll find the Fonos Basin treasure chest directly northwest of the area’s Waypoint teleporter. It only appears at night, so wait until your in-game time reaches night before coming here. Once it hits nighttime, glide down from the Waypoint teleporter platform until you reach the wooden spike circle to find the golden treasure sparkles along the southern spikes.
If you attempt to visit this spot during the day, you won’t find any treasure nearby. You can check your server’s day-night cycle by hovering over the weather icon on your minimap or opening your map and checking the time in the bottom corner.
Opening the chest will automatically finish the quest, rewarding you with two precious magic powders for equipment crafting.
Throne and Liberty Fonos Basin Treasure quest guide
You’ll start the Fonos Basin Treasure quest by talking to the Treasure Hunter near the area’s Waypoint teleporter. They’re right next to the Waypoint teleporter, giving you easy access to the mission. He’ll tell you there’s a map and treasure chest key near an Orc Shaman, claiming the shaman is too powerful for him to face. You’ll volunteer to handle the situation, prompting you to fight the orc.
Defeat the Orc Shaman to find the treasure key
Although the Treasure Hunter makes the shaman sound like a miniboss, they’re just magical versions of regular orcs. Magic-resistant armor helps here, but you shouldn’t have too many issues if you’re close to level 50. They’re also slightly rarer than soldiers and brawlers but still regularly spawn around the area. Eliminate orc shamans around Fonos Basin until you pick up a treasure key.
Open the mysterious chest in Fonos Basin
After collecting the key, you’ll need to travel through the Fonos Basin Orc settlement until you reach the huts at the highest altitude. There are several ramps leading directly to the hut.
Inside the hut is a treasure map showing the exact location of the mysterious treasure chest and a hint of how to find it. The secret is to wait until nighttime before traveling to the next location.
Find the mysterious treasure chest using the Collection Codex
Once you open the first chest to get the treasure map, head back to the Fonos Basin Waypoint. Travel northwest until you see an arena-like structure surrounded by wooden spikes. Along one of these spiked walls is the Fonos Basin Treasure, which appears as a small golden item on the floor.
However, you won’t find it right away unless you’re traveling at night. If it’s still daytime, wait until it turns to night before coming here, or else you won’t find anything. Be careful of the nearby orcs as well, as there’s a ton of them in this area.
Once you pick up the treasure, you’ll complete the Fonos Basin Treasure quest in Throne and Liberty, rewarding you with epic-grade Precious Magic Powder. Overall, this one is reminiscent of the Treasure of Daybreak chest but in a much more dangerous region.
