How to perform Z Burst Dash in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

To Z Burst Dash in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, you must hit the following buttons twice (without moving the left stick):

  • Classic: L2 + X/LT + A (xs 2)
  • Standard: R2 + X/RT + X (xs 2)

You must press the Ki Charge and Step/Short Dash together to perform the Dragon Dash first. Then, hit these two buttons again shortly after for the Z Burst Dash. Ensure you do not touch the left stick because this will disrupt the dash’s activation. Don’t worry too much about your movement; this move will automatically teleport you behind the enemy.

Once you’ve successfully executed the Z Burst Dash, unleash a flurry of punches before your opponent can counter. This surprise attack can pave the way for some exhilarating combos, helping you become the victor of this fight.

How to counter Z Burst Dash in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

Being on the other side of the Z Burst Dash can certainly be overwhelming. Here are a few ways to counter the Z Burst Dash in Sparking Zero:

  • Turn your camera toward the left, block, then perform Perception:
    • Turn your right stick to the right
    • Press R1/RB (Standard) or O/B (Classic)
    • Hit O/B (Standard) or O + Triangle/ B + Y (Classic)
  • Jump: L1/LB (Standard) or R1/RB (Classic)
  • Sidestep: Move your left stick to the right or left and press X/A (Standard and Classic)
  • Step Sway: Perform sidestep then press R1/RB (Standard) or O/B (Classic)
  • Instant Transmission: Square + X (Standard and Classic)

YouTubers Exltd and Swizzo were among the first to notice that the Z Burst Dashes always come from the left side. That means you can tilt the camera in that direction (tilt it to the right since it moves oppositely) and then initiate the block. I also recommend performing Perception afterward, triggering a counter for your character.

Besides this blocking tactic, you can jump or sidestep to avoid the Z Burst Dash’s destructive force. The two moves essentially act as a dodging maneuver where you’ll have another chance to get that strike in. There’s also the sidestep sway, which produces a slow-motion moving dodge.

Instant Transmission is another superb movement against the burst dash, teleporting you near the enemy. It relatively works the same way as the Z Burst Dash, but you’ll need to watch out for any counters. The opponent will likely use Instant Transmission, too, so try to utilize it again to turn the tide.
