During the CoD Direct, Treyarch gave players a good idea of what they can expect from multiplayer in Call of Duty Black Ops 6. This highly anticipated title is set to bring fresh content and gameplay mechanics to the franchise, ensuring that players have exciting new experiences to look forward to.

New Multiplayer Maps and Game Modes

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is set to launch with an impressive array of 12 new 6v6 maps, alongside four Strike maps that support both 2v2 and 6v6 matches. Each of these maps is designed from scratch, meaning players can expect new environments that vary in size and design. The traditional three-lane gameplay that fans love will be retained, giving a familiar feel while still providing something fresh and innovative.

Moreover, players will have the opportunity to explore a mix of new weapons and familiar guns inspired by other titles. However, it’s important to note that the Carry Forward feature will only be available in Warzone. This means that players will not be able to use weapons from MW2 and MW3 in the Black Ops 6 multiplayer experience, ensuring a more focused and unique gameplay environment.

Revamped Prestige System

The classic prestige system makes a return in Black Ops 6, allowing players to progress through military ranks that go from 1 to 55. Once players reach level 55, they can begin to prestige, and at launch, there will be 10 prestiges available to advance through. After achieving the 10th prestige, players can continue their journey with an additional 1000 levels.

One of the exciting features is the absence of seasonal level caps. This means that players can embark on their path to prestige 10 right from day one, allowing for a more engaging and continuous progression experience.

Innovative Movement Mechanics

Treyarch has made significant changes to movement in Black Ops 6, introducing a new omnidirectional movement system. This allows players to slide, dive, and sprint in any direction, enhancing the overall fluidity of gameplay. The intelligent movement options enable players to move forward automatically while executing actions like sprinting, mantling, and crouching without needing to press extra buttons.

Additionally, the new Supine Prone feature offers players the ability to rotate their body while lying prone. This innovative mechanic adds a new layer of strategy and versatility to the gameplay, allowing players to adapt to various combat situations with ease.

Customizable Loadouts

The multiplayer loadouts in Black Ops 6 allow players to equip a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, and a dedicated melee weapon, along with lethal and tactical grenades. Players can also incorporate field upgrades, three perks, a perk specialty, and wildcards into their loadouts. Base weapons can accommodate five attachments, which can increase to eight with the help of a wildcard.

Perks are categorized into three groups: Enforcer, Recon, and Strategist, each supporting different playstyles. If players equip the same category of perk across all three slots, they unlock a specialty. For example, equipping all three Enforcer perks will refresh speed and health after each kill, adding an exciting layer of strategy to player choices.

Treyarch is set to reveal more information about multiplayer gameplay during the CoD Next event on August 28. Content creators will be flown out to showcase what a full 6v6 match looks like, providing fans with an exclusive first look at the new multiplayer experience.
